David notes: The trees here are Eucalyptus nobilis, an impressive tall white gum tree with bark hanging in long strips from the crown and branches. For a while, it appeared that a nobilis specimen would take the title of the tallest tree in New South Wales, when it was measured at 79.22 metres. As this tree is in Cunnawarra National Park, just beside the Waterfall Way Track - probably visible from Beech Lookout - we were quite excited. However, the Grandis tree at Buhladelah was hurriedly remeasured, and found to be taller. I'd like to see them both measured by the same independent surveyor!
