At the top of the ridge.
The north, left hand side of the road was burnt by bushfire twelve months earlier, the other was untouched, though the difference is difficult to see.

Con Rod Straight. A narrow steep sided ridge with a steep start and finish connecting the "mainland" to Maria's Island.
