Photos taken on 2nd February 2003 of the walk from Karori to Tabletop Hut

Don approaching the gate to Table Top Hut.

Table Top Hut in sight on the far ridge.

I find that oversize joggers and two pairs of socks are the best thing to walk in. They are very comfortable, and I never get blisters. I had three outside pockets put on my lightweight but spartan pack, and they make a lot of difference to the usability of the pack.

I carry a 500 gm tripod for the digital camera, mainly so I can take panoramas which the software can stitch together easily. It hangs easily and securely on the outside of the pack. The hat is waterproof, and resists crushing.

This photo Charlie took of me is one I really like, even if I am in need of a shave.
