Dead End Gulch - the bone dry Moona Gorge

This would be an amazing gorge to go up. The slopes on either side are almost vertical, and end in the rocky stream bed. It would only be possible when the flow was low or non existent, as here. Most of the gorges in this area have areas to one side or the other which consist of deposits of sand and gravel which makes travel along the gorges relatively easy. This would be a hard slog all the way, rather like the upper portions of the Gara Gorge, near Armidale, but even more dramatic.
